When I'm Not Writing

You'll usually find me in Wisconsin's Northwoods, where quiet mornings on the water, the call of a loon, and long walks with my dog offer the same thing I try to bring to my writing—space to observe, reflect, and notice the details others might miss.

Some of my best story ideas don't arrive at my desk. They begin on the dock with a cup of coffee, watching the river wake with the sunrise or listening to the first loon call across the water. Those quiet moments are a reminder that every compelling story—and every meaningful discovery—begins by paying attention.
